      Lmao never heard of that term before. Yeah unfortunately life got in the way and the videos were pretty dead for a while so I stopped trying to make content since it took up so much time. I have another video that’s been sitting at about 50% complete and just haven’t had time to do it but I really need to. Believe me when I was making these I was dreaming of reaching a wide audience of people that were also in love with the hobby/lifestyle, but the algorithm is trash so it didn’t work out that way. But I’m definitely dropping another video and have footage of several more that I’ll eventually try to do. So much has happened it’s crazy! Thank you for the support and hopefully I can live up to this “Brood Daddy” Title (praying it’s a good thing) lol

      @@TheReaper1 yeah, i was pretty proud of that term... now reading it a 2nd time i can see how it can be preceded in different ways. It was meant in platonic way possible ,D looking forward to see when it comes and interested in hearing how it has evolved over the years.

    I just found your channel, and I must say this is the best design for a chicken coop I have ever seen! I wish you had a link to the plans or offered a way to purchase the plans. We'll Done!

    • @TheReaper1

      Thank you! Yeah unfortunately the closest to blue prints was the drawing in the beginning. A lot of the lumber I used was old scrap pieces etc so I was just winging it with what I had. The windows etc were leftover from my house that I found in the attic one day too. The closest thing I have is the materials/hardware listed out if you click the Amazon links in the description. Thank you again and maybe one day in the future if I build another I will make some real solid plans!

    Have you had any problems with your rain barrel? Algae? Mosquitos? I’m about to install mine and I’m worried about it being in the sunlight

    • @TheReaper1
      @TheReaper1 16 днів тому

      I’ve never had any algae problems as there is pretty much no way for light to enter. I add apple cider vinegar to the barrel just about every other month as well. Around around a cup or two. I’ve never encountered mosquitoes in their water supply either. But my area itself has a lot of them. But never from the water they drink. I hope this helps you.

    • @TheReaper1
      @TheReaper1 21 день тому

      The mini coop costs me nothing, it was just scrap from the original larger build I did and even that I used scrap lumber from jobsites fortunately. The mini coop is pretty small. Maybe 7 feet long including the run. Box aka the housing for the chicks is about 2’x2’

    • @TheReaper1
      @TheReaper1 Місяць тому

      It’s been 2 years now and I haven’t heard any complaints! All jokes aside there are trees up against the back of the coop maybe 2 feet from it so there’s only a small portion of the day sun hits it. And the line that goes into the coop and into the cups is all inside and shaded so I don’t think it gets too hot. Plus every now and then when I clean out I use my finger to test if they’re all working and it’s always felt cool. Appreciate the question though! I’d imagine if it was she’d by the coop on one side and trees on the other it could get toasty during the middle of summer!

    • @TheReaper1
      @TheReaper1 Місяць тому

      If you’re going to do the deep litter method inside the main coop, I would cut the chicken entrance door 8 inches higher minimum. I have pine shavings that jam up my automatic door every now and then because I made mine so low. Also stain the studs before you out the hardware cloth on. I had chickens on the way so I didn’t have time to do it that way. The large stones around the parameter of mine were awesome for over a year. Then I hatched out a rooster and unfortunately he loves messing those stones up looking for bugs. So get some bigger rocks if you go that route lol. I would also make a hatch door or have it so the side opens for the run on the side where you would collect eggs. Because it is short it’s impossible to clean from in the run without getting on your hands and knees. So having that part of the run be able to swing open for cleaning underneath would be the way to go. Makes it easier when adding sand or whatever you’re gonna use as the flooring in the run. Also the automatic feeder for food I have in the video, they make larger ones that can old like 25 lbs of food which can feed 10 Chickens for over a week. I would get that instead. That’s about it though everything else has been awesome. Also it’s not in the video but I ran heat trace cable and wrapped my entire water line and chicken cups all the way around the rain barell so that it doesn’t freeze during the winter then wrapped it all with white electrical tape. That worked well aside from a few -50 degree F days. For those I just gave them a bowl of water until the temp rose a bit. But that’s the list of my problems

  • @Not2daysatan

    How is the stain holding up a year later? We are deciding between paint and stain in Florida... Lots of sun and rain.

    • @TheReaper1
      @TheReaper1 Місяць тому

      The coop is now over 2 years old (took some time making the video) and the stain has been holding up surprisingly well. I most likely wont do anything to it this year but next year I may renew it with a coat or two. Between rain, heavy snowstorms, hail, and some insane smoke for a month from a forest fire, it’s done really well for the price! Lmao. I’ve never personally been to florida though and I I’m not familiar with the rainfall so I would still use your best judgement as I am way farther up north! Good luck!

      Robby! I just watched the final episode….. it’s insane. Down to the very last panel I predicted. The series is so damn close I feel like I’m the past 2 and a half years someone involved with the show just straight up copied my predictions! It would be awesome to do a season 3 but the amount of time it took to create the motion comics of the season 2 predictions was insane for the few views I’ve gotten over the years. I even paid for the first episode of the series to be run as an add at one point. It’s a crappy feeling to try so hard and then see other channels barely make an effort and get tons of views, so I have to say it’s a wrap on the comic series of videos. Looks like Amazon is gonna have to take 5 years to make season 3 this time around lol

None of my comic stuff ever took off between this series and my season 2 prediction series. It seems like most things I make content on are cursed lol. Games I use to play that took off ended up dying, and this show took 3 years to drop a half season! So yeah, if there had been more views it would make sense for the amount of time it takes me to put a video together and post it, but unfortunately it does not. Thank you very much!!! I wasn’t sure if it was too much editing, I actually took the first 30 seconds away at one point to see if it would keep people around longer for the algorithm but eventually decided it took too long to edit to not show 😂

      @@TheReaper1 no the intro was perfect! It’s what grabbed my attention and it had me hooked. At one point I was hoping that’d be your intro for every video just cause how good it was 😂

      Thank you very much! I wasn’t sure how it would go as I did the editing on the fly and didn’t follow any specific style of video online I just went with the flow lol. My daughter is 100% better now and fully recovered (she had been pecked in the eye and had to get several weeks of antibiotics after an ER visit). I plan to get the next video finished and get some more videos out soon hopefully!

    How much did it cost to build?

      For me it cost around $1000 but I used a lot of recycled material from jobsites that was getting thrown out etc.

      Part 2 of season 2 show better have better animation than the first half. Couldn’t believe how much worse it was from season 1. Peoples faces warping etc. and literal png’s moving on the screen. I did that for my prediction series I don’t need to see it in the show too lol
